Nigerian rapper Yung6ix came face-to-face with death but walked away unscathed after surviving a violent robbery attempt in Downtown Los Angeles.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the US-based artist recounted the heart-stopping moment when an armed assailant opened fire on his car while he was inside. Miraculously, the bullet missed him, leaving him shaken but unharmed.

“[I] just wanna thank God for working harder than satan,” he wrote. “They just tried to rob me in DTLA. F*ck my car up. Never been this shocked in a minute. I’m grateful. Mama’s prayers working. Na where the bullet pass we still dey find, cuz I was in the car. This is mind-boggling. I thought this guy was gonna kill me, bro. I swear on the blood of Jesus. God forbid, na so I for just go yesterday? God is definitely working overtime for me.”

The rapper’s raw gratitude and disbelief struck a chord with fans, as many took to the comments to join him in thanking God for sparing his life.

This isn’t Yung6ix’s first brush with robbery in the United States. Back in May 2021, he was hit by thieves who made away with valuables worth thousands of dollars, including his laptop containing unreleased music, cash, a Black Magic 6k camera, four iPhones, a PS5, and studio equipment.

Sharing CCTV footage of that incident at the time, he lamented, “My car got robbed. Had my whole life in that car. My laptop with my new album and mixtape. About $5,000–$7,000 cash, Black Magic 6k camera, iPhones, my PS5, and studio recording equipment while I was moving into my new apartment.”

In another robbery episode in October 2020, the rapper revealed his car was targeted yet again, with thieves making away with his custom teeth grills and Versace shades.

For Yung6ix, the streets of LA have been far from forgiving. But for now, he’s counting his blessings, crediting his survival to divine intervention and his mother’s prayers.
