Nigerian Afrobeat artist Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has shared why he chooses to sing in Yoruba in all his songs. During an Instagram Live session, a fan asked the “Mr. Money With The Vibes” singer why he predominantly uses his native language.
In response, Asake explained that while he can sing in English, he feels more comfortable expressing himself in Yoruba. He added that those who don’t appreciate his music in Yoruba are welcome to stop listening.
He stated, “I am more comfortable singing in Yoruba. It’s not that I can’t sing in English. If you fvck with me, fvck with me with my Yoruba. If not, then don’t.”
