Portuguese forward João Félix has opened up about his decision to leave Chelsea and join AC Milan on loan for the rest of the season.
Félix struggled for regular game time at Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca, which played a key role in his move to the Serie A side during the January transfer window.
Speaking to journalist Fabrizio Romano, he explained his choice:
"I didn’t ask AC Milan to play every game, just to play in my position… and Sérgio Conceição wanted exactly to put me in my best position. That was crucial for me to pick AC Milan."
Meanwhile, AC Milan’s Senior Advisor, Zlatan Ibrahimović, revealed that the deal was finalized in just five minutes.
On the other hand, Chelsea manager Maresca dismissed concerns about Félix’s departure, stating that his team is not missing the playmaker. He also noted that the 24-year-old is happy with his new club.
