Nollywood actor, Kunle Afod says his decades of experience in the entertainment industry have taught him that "there is no friend or foe anywhere."

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, the 51-year-old reflected on life lessons from his 38-year career.

“Someone believed as a friend can turn to be a traitor, and another fellow perceived as an enemy may become instrumental to one’s success,” he said.

Afod added that his journey in the industry, which began in 1986, has reinforced the importance of remaining open-minded. “The person you see as your friend might come to stab you, and that fellow you see as your enemy might be the person that will help you,” he explained.

The filmmaker also revealed his plans to work on a major movie project this year, alongside a new season of his Proverbs Challenge series.

“This year, I am looking toward the big screen. I will also be coming up with new series of the Proverbs Challenge this year. I like creating content that is competitive,” he said.

Afod encouraged emerging actors and directors to continuously hone their skills through research and practice.

“Directors should also be willing to carry out lots of research to improve on their work, upgrade their knowledge from time to time,” he advised.

The actor’s career journey highlights the ups and downs of the entertainment world, offering lessons for both seasoned professionals and newcomers.
