The Water & Garri film and its accompanying soundtrack herald a crucial chapter in Tiwa’s artistic journey, as she sojourns on an odyssey in the world of filmmaking by taking up her first lead role in a feature film, as well as executive producer. The ‘Water & Garri’ film has her playing the role of Aisha, an aspiring and determined filmmaker who returns to her native home, ‘Eastside’ after a decade of living in the US, following episodes of grieving over a dead relative. Back home, Aisha discovered that things had drastically changed, chaos had ensued, and everywhere is on red alert. As she reconnects with family, and old friends which rekindles an old flame—she must learn to live with her scars and face her demons head-on.
