Nigerian online critic Vincent Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has responded to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana after the human rights lawyer stated his intent to make an example of him in a defamation case.
Falana’s comments, made during an interview on Channels Television, caught attention after he discussed the case surrounding VeryDarkMan. In a video posted on Instagram, VeryDarkMan addressed the situation, stating that he would not allow the focus to shift onto a personal battle between himself and the Falanas. Instead, he emphasized the need to expose corruption, particularly within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The online commentator explained how he uncovered a case where Bobrisky allegedly benefited from corruption but faced backlash for revealing the truth. VeryDarkMan said, “To be honest, I refuse to make this about VeryDarkMan and the Falanas. It is about exposing corruption that has eaten the system so deep.”
Despite the legal threats, VeryDarkMan maintained his respect for Falana, even suggesting that if they were to meet, he would still show him the utmost respect. He also urged Falana to serve Bobrisky with the same legal action, as Bobrisky was involved in the case as well.
“My own be say if they’re serving me a letter, make una also serve Bobrisky the same letter… Uncle Femi is somebody that I respect, if I see am today sef I go still lie down for ground,” he remarked, making it clear that his priority remains shining a light on corruption.
