Nigerian online commentator Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has responded to Pastor Adeboye’s recent apology regarding his previous stance on tithing. Pastor Adeboye, the leader of the RCCG, recently expressed regret for his statement that those who do not pay tithes would not enter heaven, admitting that the claim was not biblically accurate.

After the apology went viral, VeryDarkMan weighed in, questioning what other teachings pastors might have misrepresented to their followers. He particularly called out ministers like Pastor David Ibiyeomie, who is known for his teachings on tithing, and urged them to reconsider their messages.

In his critique, VeryDarkMan voiced his satisfaction with Adeboye’s clarification, noting that it could lead to a larger reflection within the Christian community. He stated, “Which other things have they told us that are not in the Bible? How many things have they manipulated?” The outspoken critic also addressed how religion has, in his view, distorted judgment across Africa, emphasizing the need for more transparency from religious leaders.
