DJ Switch, a disc jockey and activist, has urged Nigerians to unite and put aside tribal and religious differences ahead of a planned nationwide protest against economic hardship and rising living costs.
In a post on her X page, Switch encouraged Nigerians to join the protest, scheduled for August 1-10, and fight against the mismanagement of the country's economy by the political class.
She alleged that some politicians supporting the protest are only doing so for record purposes and to deceive the youth. Switch also shared her experience of facing threats after filming the 2020 Lekki tollgate shooting during the EndSARS protest.
The activist emphasized the need for unity among Nigerians to bring about actual change, saying, "I don't care what tribe you are from or religion you belong to, we need to unite if we want actual change."
