UEFA has launched an investigation into four Real Madrid players, including Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, over alleged misconduct during their Champions League victory against Atletico Madrid.

Defender Antonio Rudiger and midfielder Dani Ceballos are also under scrutiny. The inquiry comes just days before Real Madrid’s quarter-final first-leg match against Arsenal on April 8.

"A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector has been assigned to look into allegations of improper conduct by Real Madrid players," UEFA said in a statement.

According to reports from Spanish media, the players are being investigated for the way they celebrated after their penalty shootout win over Atletico on March 12.

The match, which ended in a 2-2 aggregate draw, saw Real Madrid progress after winning on penalties. However, controversy arose when Atletico forward Julian Alvarez had a penalty disallowed for allegedly making two touches while taking his shot.

Both UEFA and Real Madrid have yet to comment on the matter.
