Nigerian celebrity designer Toyin Lawani recently opened up about her challenging pregnancy journey as she celebrated her daughter Tinuke Eleora’s third birthday on Monday. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Toyin expressed her deep gratitude for Tinuke, whom she called her “miracle baby.”
Toyin shared that her pregnancy was fraught with difficulties after doctors warned her that she might not be able to carry her baby to term due to a degenerative spine disease. The news devastated her, leading to three days of continuous tears. Despite the dire prognosis and the severe toll on her health, Toyin remained resolute in her decision to continue the pregnancy, enduring immense pain to bring her child into the world. Now, she reflects on that period with relief and pride, grateful for the strength she found to overcome those dark times.
"Happy birthday to my miracle baby @kingtinukeleora, aka Bossbaby," Toyin wrote. "I’m so grateful you chose me to be your mom. I remember the day my doctors told me I couldn’t carry you to term due to the degenerative spine disease. I cried for three days nonstop because I was far gone already. But I didn’t give up, and nothing they told me could sway me to part ways with you, even though it affected my health so badly."
