Nigerian skit maker Zicsaloma has opened up about his decision to undergo rhinoplasty in January.

The content creator traveled to Turkey for the procedure to reshape his nose, which he says was motivated by aesthetic reasons and a long-held desire to alter his appearance.

Since the surgery, Zicsaloma has been sharing his recovery journey on social media, drawing both support and criticism. Addressing his decision in a YouTube post, he explained that his nose was a source of insecurity due to frequent teasing about its size.

“People undergo rhinoplasty for different reasons. Some do it because they don’t like the shape of their nose, while others do it for medical reasons like breathing problems,” he said. “For me, it was purely aesthetic. I’ve always had a flat nose and was often ridiculed for its size. I wanted to change that.”

He also revealed that being the only one among his siblings with a big nose contributed to his feelings of insecurity. “My siblings have pointed noses, but I inherited my father’s nose shape, and mine was even more pronounced,” he shared.

Zicsaloma defended his choice, stating that everyone has insecurities, and those who have the means to address them should not be judged. “If you don’t have the courage or resources to fix your insecurities, don’t judge others who do,” he said.

The comedian also responded to critics, asserting that he is “morally better” than many of them. “I don’t smoke, drink, or engage in womanizing. Morally, I’m better than most people judging me,” he added.

Zicsaloma’s openness about his rhinoplasty reflects his journey towards self-acceptance while challenging societal norms about cosmetic surgery.
