Veteran Nollywood actor Segun Arinze has addressed ongoing rumors about homosexuality in the Nigerian film industry.

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, the 59-year-old dismissed claims linking him to such practices, stating he has no involvement.

“I do not bend over, so I cannot react to it. If they do, that’s their problem,” he said.

Speculations surfaced in 2024 alleging that some actors in Nollywood engage in homosexuality and trade sexual favors for movie roles. Responding, Arinze emphasized that people are free to make their own choices, adding, “They are adults and can do whatever they want. It’s none of my business.”

The seasoned actor, known for his roles in over 100 films, explained his preference for avoiding controversies. “I like living a straightforward life, focusing on my work and being professional,” he stated.

Arinze, who also works as a voice-over artist and acting coach, studied Dramatic Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University (formerly the University of Ife).

The actor’s career spans nearly three decades, making him one of the most respected figures in Nollywood.
