Sabrina Carpenter just set the tone for the 2025 Grammy Awards, grabbing her first-ever golden gramophone for Best Pop Solo Performance with her viral summer smash, Espresso.

The record, a caffeine-fueled anthem that dominated airwaves and TikTok feeds alike, has officially solidified her status as a pop heavyweight.

Meanwhile, British pop disruptor Charli XCX finally got her flowers, bagging Best Dance/Pop Album for Brat and Best Dance/Pop Song for Von Dutch. After a decade of pushing sonic boundaries, the world is finally catching up to Charli’s hyper-pop revolution. Producer Finn Keane accepted the award on her behalf, throwing in a subtle flex: "She’s been making this kind of music for 10 years, but now everyone’s finally paying attention."

Who Takes Album of the Year?

All eyes are now on the biggest prize of the night: Album of the Year. Heavy hitters like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and André 3000 (with his avant-garde jazz flute project New Blue Sun) are all in contention. But with both Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter already securing early wins, fans are wondering if their momentum could translate into a shock victory.

Neither Charli nor Sabrina showed up to collect their awards—likely keeping their energy locked in for performances set to shake up the main event.

As the Grammy night unfolds, one thing is clear: the pop landscape is shifting, and new queens are stepping into the spotlight.
