Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has spoken out regarding the ongoing controversy involving Burna Boy and Speed Darlington. The drama began when reports surfaced that Burna Boy was behind Speed Darlington’s arrest due to alleged defamation.
Initially, Speed Darlington was declared missing by influencer Constance. However, it was later revealed by his lawyer that Burna Boy was responsible for his apprehension, claiming that Speed’s defamatory comments were the cause.
Weighing in on the matter, Rudeboy took to Instagram to caution people about the consequences of making reckless statements online. He warned that while freedom of speech is important, it comes with limitations.
Rudeboy posted: “People think everything is a joke until trouble catches up with them. Then, they’ll claim you’re being oppressive just because you have money. There's a big difference between freedom of speech and freedom of defamation.”
His post sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users sharing their thoughts. Some expressed that arresting Speed Darlington was excessive, while others argued that legal action would have been a better course of action. Still, others criticized the rapper for crossing boundaries with his remarks, saying Burna Boy was justified.
The debate continues as fans and observers weigh in on this developing situation.
