Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington took to Instagram to claim that the Nigerian police in Abuja are still holding his two iPhones following his recent release from custody. The artist, who was previously detained over alleged defamation of Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, voiced his frustration from the United States, where he returned shortly after his release.

Darlington expressed his irritation over the withheld devices, stating, “The police in Abuja haven’t given me my phone. I am currently in America. Make una give me my phone na.” He went on to link his experience with the broader issues within Nigeria, saying, “Una go dey wonder why different groups dey start all over Nigeria… it’s because Nigeria is a shithole.”

He also warned that he might pursue legal action if the police don’t return his phones, adding, “If una wan file criminal lawsuit, make una go on na, I will come court to defend myself. After all, there is nothing in the law book, according to my lawyer, that says there is anything like cyberstalking in Nigeria.”
