The conflict began when Speed Darlington invited Portable to perform at his upcoming concert on April 13, 2025. Portable declined the offer, citing a performance fee of ₦20 million and accusing Speed Darlington of attempting to exploit his popularity for promotional gain.
In response, Speed Darlington expressed regret over the invitation and criticized Portable’s reaction. He further escalated the situation by sharing a video in which he inquired about the cost of a coffin, allegedly intended for Portable, captioning it: “Portable, are you ready to die for not coming to my show April 13th.”
The tension continued to mount when Portable challenged Speed Darlington to a boxing match, labeling him as financially unstable and encouraging fans to place bets on the fight’s outcome.
This isn’t Portable’s first foray into celebrity boxing. In December 2023, he participated in a match against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha, emerging victorious after a third-round knockout.
