Nigerian rapper Phyno, known for his hit song “Alobam,” recently opened up about the challenges of balancing marriage and a music career. On the In My Opinion podcast, he described the music industry as a “jealous and tasking” profession that often demands full attention, making it difficult for many artists to maintain a relationship or other commitments.

Phyno pointed out that for some celebrities, marriage can coincide with a dip in their careers. He emphasized how music requires total dedication, with many artists even dropping out of school to focus entirely on their craft. “Music is tasking; it takes all your time,” he explained, acknowledging that some artists manage to juggle both, but it’s not an easy feat.

He also discussed how the personal experiences of artists play a role in their music. “Music is what you pass through in life,” he said, noting that one can’t authentically sing about happiness if their personal life is full of stress.
