The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi has officially joined TikTok.

In a video shared on his page on Tuesday, the former Anambra State governor confirmed that it is his “official and only” TikTok account. He urged Nigerians to follow him as he continues his vision of building a “new Nigeria.”

“This is my official and only TikTok page. Kindly join me towards building a new Nigeria that is possible,” Obi said.

Within an hour of the announcement, his page had already gained over 6,000 followers. He also shared the TikTok link on his other social media platforms.

Obi’s move to TikTok follows a similar step taken by Nasir el-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State. El-Rufai joined the platform a few days ago and has already amassed over 323,000 followers and 3 million views.

Peter Obi ran for president in 2023 under the Labour Party but finished third behind Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The 63-year-old previously served as Anambra State governor from 2007 to 2014.
