Nigerian singer Omah Lay has accused a fellow artist of stealing the concept for his upcoming album. Omah Lay revealed that he had shared his album idea with this unnamed artist with the intention of collaborating. However, the artist allegedly took the idea and released an album based on it.

During an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Omah Lay explained that the situation forced him to re-record his entire album. He mentioned that his song "Holy Ghost" represents a new sound he intended to explore throughout the album. "I was going to make the whole album with the new sound, but along the line, I changed my mind," he said.

He continued, "I shared an idea with a certain artist, and the artist went ahead and put out an album with my idea, so I had to re-record my album. He approached me about collaborating, and because he’s an artist I admire, I shared my direction for the sound with him. Five months later, he released an album with exactly the same sound I shared with him."

Despite the setback, Omah Lay is confident in his reworked album, stating, "I had to go back and remake my album, which is actually going to be the greatest album of all time in Afrobeats history."
