Nigerian rapper Oladips has accused Grammy-winning artist Wizkid of stealing his lyrics. Oladips claims that Wizkid used a portion of the lyrics from his song "Ajala Travel Remix" in Wizkid's recent collaboration with Asake, titled "MMS." To support his allegation, Oladips posted screenshots of the lyrics from both songs on his Instagram account.
When a fan commented that sampling is a common practice, Oladips responded that it is acceptable only when properly acknowledged. He wrote, "It’s normal if you acknowledge the source! But not when they act like they don’t know you and secretly use your lyrics."
Wizkid has not yet responded to these allegations.
