Popular Nigerian on-air personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, known as Do2dtun, has publicly criticized Soundcity, alleging the radio station has failed to pay its staff for eight months.
In a tweet dated January 8, 2025, Do2dtun described the situation as “cruel and inhumane,” questioning how his colleagues manage under such conditions.
He stated: “It’s not by force to open a radio station. Owing your staff for 8 months is very cruel and inhuman. You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you this. My friends and colleagues at Soundcity, how do you guys cope? No salary for 8 months? Mehn that’s crazy!!!!”
This revelation has sparked discussions about employee welfare in the Nigerian media industry, with many expressing concern over the alleged neglect of staff well-being.
As of now, Soundcity has not issued an official response to these allegations.
