Nigeria's movie industry, Nollywood, made a big impact at the Essence Film Festival 2024.
This was the third year in a row that Nollywood was part of the festival, which was held from July 5-7, 2024.
On July 6, some of Nollywood's biggest stars, including Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Uche Jombo, Simisola Gbadamosi, and Eso Dike, took part in a panel discussion. They shared their stories and experiences, and the audience loved it!
This panel showed just how talented and important Nollywood is. It helped get Nigerian movies more attention worldwide. Toyosi Etim-Effiong, who put together the panel, said, "We need more visibility in global storytelling, and panels like this help make that happen. We're proud to showcase Nollywood's unique stories and talents, and we're committed to creating global conversations through film."
