Nigerian artist Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, recently revealed the charming story of how he met his wife, Ijeoma Okonkwo. In an interview with VJ Adams, the ‘Limpopo’ hitmaker shared that the encounter took place while he was distributing wedding invitations for his younger brother, Emeka Okonkwo, famously known as E-Money.
Kcee described the moment as love at first sight, recalling, “I met my wife when I went to give Charly Boy E-Money’s wedding invitation. Immediately, I saw her, I said, ‘I want to marry this girl.’ I told Presh, ‘That’s my wife.’”
Though Kcee approached Ijeoma with confidence, she initially laughed and didn’t recognize him. “I told her I came to drop my brother’s wedding invite but wanted to invite her especially because I wanted to marry her. She didn’t give me attention because she didn’t know it was Kcee at that moment,” he shared. After some persistence and a nudge from her colleague, Ijeoma eventually gave him her number.
Kcee emphasized his intentions clearly, saying, “I want to marry you. I don’t want to date you. If I date you, we won’t get married.” He noted that many people make the mistake of dating without clear intentions, which can lead to complications.
The couple tied the knot in 2010 and are now proud parents of two children, marking a beautiful journey that began with a wedding invitation.
