Wilfred Ndidi, the Nigerian international, has decided to turn down a contract offer from Spanish club Sevilla, opting to remain in the Premier League. According to Footmercato, the midfielder is on the verge of signing a new contract with Leicester City.
After leaving Leicester City as a free agent at the end of last season, Ndidi quickly became one of the most sought-after players, attracting interest from several top clubs. Barcelona, Sevilla, Juventus, Everton, and numerous other clubs were linked with the talented midfielder, who impressed last season by contributing four goals and five assists, and maintaining an 82% pass accuracy in 32 league appearances. His defensive skills and progressive play make him a highly valuable asset.
Despite his initial openness to joining Ligue 1 clubs such as OM, OL, and AS Monaco, Ndidi has now reached an agreement with Leicester City for a contract extension. This is great news for Leicester, who will continue to benefit from the contributions of a player who has been with the club for seven and a half years, following in the footsteps of former stars Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kanté.
