My very warm friendship – Charly Boy remembers late singer Sound Sultan

Nigerian singer Charly Boy paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend and legendary singer, Sound Sultan, who passed away in 2021. Charly Boy took to Instagram to reflect on their close bond, sharing an old photo of the two together and expressing his sorrow.

In the emotional post, Charly Boy wrote, “I remember my very warm friendship with one of the greats, Sound Sultan. RIP.” A fan commented, “RIP Mr. Sound Sultan, really love  you that year… continue to rest in peace, brother. May God Almighty keep your children and wife safe.”

Sound Sultan, who passed away at 44 after a battle with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, left a lasting impact on the Nigerian music scene. His death in July 2021 shocked many, and he was laid to rest at the Marlboro Muslim Cemetery in New Jersey, following Islamic rites. According to his brother, Baba Dee, Sound Sultan received the best medical care possible before his passing.
