Peter Okoye, known professionally as Mr. P, has responded to allegations from rising singer Darkoo, who claimed he attempted to sabotage her music video for “Focus on Me.” Darkoo alleged that Mr. P had the video removed from YouTube for six days.

In a statement released by his management team, One Management, Mr. P clarified that his actions were intended to ensure proper clearance procedures for the song, which samples P-Square’s “Gimme Dat.” He had advised Darkoo on the necessary channels to clear the sample and shared his own experiences with similar situations.

The statement further explained that Darkoo had not responded to communications from Mr. P’s team to confirm whether she had obtained the necessary clearance. Consequently, the music video was released without proper authorization, leading to its temporary removal from YouTube. The issue was resolved after Darkoo and her team signed an agreement with all parties involved, resulting in the video’s reinstatement.

Mr. P’s management team denied any intent to sabotage Darkoo, describing her allegations as “malicious and a deliberate attempt to portray him in a bad light.” They also noted that Darkoo did not raise concerns about the video’s removal until after it was reinstated, suggesting her public outburst was a publicity stunt.
