President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a significant step towards reducing the cost of governance in Nigeria.

In a statement signed on Thursday, he restricted ministers, ministers of state, and heads of agencies to a maximum of three vehicles in their official convoys, with no additional vehicles allowed for movement.

This move is part of his efforts to streamline government expenditure, which has been a major concern for Nigerians. Earlier in January 2024, Tinubu had issued a directive aimed at reducing government spending, including cutting down his entourage on foreign trips from 50 to 20 officials and local trips from 50 to 25 officials.

The decision has been welcomed as a positive step towards addressing Nigeria's economic challenges. The country has been struggling with high government expenditure, and this move is seen as a way to free up resources for development. With this directive, President Tinubu is sending a strong message that his administration is serious about cutting costs and promoting accountability.
