Ezekiel ThankGod, the former manager of celebrated Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, is set to face trial on February 14, 2025, despite the withdrawal of an earlier arrest warrant issued against him. The allegations involve financial impropriety, where Ezekiel is accused of exploiting his managerial position for personal financial gain during his tenure with the singer.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had previously sought Ezekiel’s arrest after his alleged failure to honor court summons. However, the arrest warrant was withdrawn after his legal team assured the court that he would appear voluntarily to answer the charges leveled against him.

The initial hearing was scheduled for January 24, 2025, but Ezekiel’s defense team requested a postponement, citing a lack of sufficient preparation to address the case adequately. The court, granting their request, rescheduled the hearing, ensuring that legal proceedings would continue without unnecessary delays.

The case has attracted significant public attention, as Mercy Chinwo’s fan base and industry insiders closely follow the developments. While Mercy Chinwo herself has not commented publicly on the matter, many view the case as a broader warning against financial misconduct in the entertainment industry.

As Ezekiel prepares to face the court, the case highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in professional relationships, especially in the highly scrutinized world of entertainment management.
