Kylian Mbappé’s representatives announced, on Wednesday, that they had declined the French football league’s (LFP) proposal to mediate between the France captain and Paris Saint-Germain in their dispute over unpaid wages and bonuses.
Mbappé claims PSG owes him €55 million, which the club alleges the 25-year-old agreed to waive in August 2023.
The amount includes a signing bonus expected in February, the final three months of his salary, and an “ethical bonus” for the period.
Lawyers for both parties met on Wednesday after Mbappé, who joined Real Madrid this summer, referred the case to the LFP’s legal committee. The league then offered to mediate.
“The possibility of mediation was raised this morning,” Mbappé’s representatives told AFP in a statement. “This option was rejected during the meeting by the player’s representative. Mediation would be unnecessary, as the unpaid amount is evident from a simple review of the player’s payslip.”
The LFP informed AFP that it would issue its decision in the case on Friday.
