Manchester United has confirmed the departure of interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, following the arrival of new head coach Ruben Amorim in the UK.
The club released a statement on Monday, expressing gratitude for Van Nistelrooy’s contributions. “Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.”
The statement continued: “Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.”
Van Nistelrooy took over as interim head coach after Erik ten Hag’s departure. His four-match stint has come to an end with Amorim’s arrival.
Amorim’s appointment marks a new era for the Red Devils, while Van Nistelrooy’s legacy remains intact as a Manchester United legend.
