Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has joined Dutch club PSV Eindhoven on loan for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old Netherlands international has been working on his fitness after returning to action in November, following a long 17-month injury spell.

Malacia, a left-back, signed for United in 2022 from Feyenoord for £13 million ($16 million) and remains under contract at Old Trafford until next season.

"Tyrell Malacia will spend the rest of the 2024/25 season on loan with PSV Eindhoven," Manchester United said in a statement.

"After working hard to regain full fitness, he returned to action earlier this season and has played eight games under manager Ruben Amorim. It has been agreed that he will now join Peter Bosz’s team in the Netherlands for the remainder of the campaign."

The move was completed before the Dutch transfer window closed on Tuesday.

Malacia's departure follows United's recent signing of Denmark wing-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.
