Nigerian striker Ademola Lookman has been shortlisted for the African Player of the Year award. The Confederation of African Football announced the five finalists on Monday.
Lookman is joined by Achraf Hakimi of Morocco, Simon Adingra of Ivory Coast, Serhou Guirassy of Guinea, and Ronwen Williams of South Africa.
Lookman's impressive performance for Atalanta, including a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final, makes him a strong contender.
Last year's winner, Victor Osimhen, was recognized for his outstanding contributions to Napoli before joining Galatasaray on loan.
The awards ceremony will take place in Marrakesh, Morocco, on December 16, honoring Africa's top football stars.
