Legendary soul singer Frankie Beverly dies at 77

Iconic American singer and producer Frankie Beverly, best known for his work with the band Maze, has passed away at the age of 77. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed. 

Beverly's family shared the heartbreaking news on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Their statement read, "Grieving the loss of a loved one is a deep and emotional experience. As we navigate through this sorrowful time, we ask for privacy and understanding, allowing us the space to grieve and reflect on the life of Howard Stanley Beverly, known to the world as Frankie Beverly."

Frankie Beverly, revered for timeless hits like "We Are One," formed Maze (initially known as Raw Soul) in 1970 in Philadelphia, leaving an indelible mark on soul and funk music.
