Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe is back from a thigh injury and will head to Doha for the Intercontinental Cup final this week, the club announced on Monday.
The forward, who scored in last week’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Atalanta, sustained a left thigh injury during the game and was sidelined for Saturday’s 3-3 La Liga draw against Rayo Vallecano.
However, the 25-year-old is now ready to join his teammates for Wednesday’s final against Mexican side Pachuca at Lusail Stadium.
“Mbappe did some work with the rest of the squad and some on his own,” Real Madrid stated in their final training update before traveling to Doha.
The Intercontinental Cup features champions from various continental tournaments. Real Madrid, as winners of the 2024 UEFA Champions League, automatically qualified for the final.
In La Liga, Real Madrid sits third, just one point behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, with a game in hand. They are set to host Sevilla next Sunday.
