Kendrick Lamar is set to make history as the first rapper to headline a Super Bowl halftime show solo.
The announcement was made on Sunday by the National Football League (NFL), Roc Nation, and Apple Music, revealing that Lamar will take center stage at the 2025 Super Bowl on February 9 in New Orleans. Kendrick is truly a once-in-a-generation artiste and performer,” Roc Nation founder Jay-Z said in a statement.
“He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. His work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
In response to the announcement, Lamar expressed his excitement about representing rap music on such a massive platform. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” he said in a statement.
