The Katsina State Hisbah Board has announced a statewide ban on all nightclub activities, citing adherence to Islamic principles and the need to uphold moral values. In a statement released on Wednesday, Commander-General Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar) directed nightclub operators to cease operations immediately to curb immoral activities, protect societal values, and address security concerns within the state. He emphasized that violators would face strict penalties and that security agencies have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the order.
This move aligns with Hisbah’s broader efforts to promote a morally upright society and ensure peace and security in Katsina State. The board has communicated with relevant security agencies, including the state Commissioner for Internal Security, to facilitate effective implementation of the directive.
The Hisbah Board, functioning as an Islamic morality police, has previously enforced similar bans in other states, aiming to regulate activities deemed contrary to Islamic teachings and cultural norms.
