Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been sent to Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, after failing to meet bail conditions set by the court.

The music star appeared before an Upper Area Court in Ilorin on Monday over a defamation case filed against him by Fuji legend, Saheed Osupa.

Although the court granted him bail at ₦1 million, it came with strict conditions. He must provide two sureties, one of whom must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN). The second surety must own a property within a Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ilorin and present a valid Certificate of Occupancy.

As Portable couldn’t meet the bail requirements, he was remanded in prison custody pending further developments.

The defamation case stems from accusations made by Portable against Saheed Osupa, which the Fuji artist said damaged his reputation.
