Spanish football legend Andres Iniesta has revealed his plans to become a coach just a day after announcing his retirement on October 8, 2024.
Speaking at a press conference in Barcelona, the 2010 World Cup winner shared that he has already begun taking coaching courses. Iniesta emphasized his determination to succeed in this new phase of his career.
“I’ve already started the coaching course,” Iniesta said. “I want to fully prepare for this next chapter. Those who know me know I’m persistent, and I aim to do a great job.”
He added that while he won’t be on the field anymore, he will continue to contribute to football from a different perspective. Iniesta also reflected on his career, saying his greatest pride comes from giving his all until his final day as a player.
Iniesta enjoyed an illustrious career, playing 674 matches for Barcelona, scoring 57 goals, and providing 15 assists. Overall, he made 885 appearances, scoring 93 goals and assisting 164 times.
The Spanish icon is now set to take on a new challenge in football as a coach.
