Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, has stirred conversations by revealing that she continues to live with her family despite her soaring fame and wealth. In a candid interview with Coco Jones for Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians issue, Starr shared how her status hasn’t distanced her from her loved ones.
“I still live with my family when I’m back home in Nigeria. My brothers are always making noise playing video games! I keep my friends close too; we even have a group chat where I ask for their opinions on what I should wear. I’m grateful for my friends and family, but sometimes it gets overwhelming, and I need to take a break,” she admitted.
Starr’s openness about maintaining her family ties challenges the glamorized narrative of celebrity life, prompting fans to rethink what success truly looks like.
