Seun Kuti opens up on his childhood experiences and relationship with his late father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
In a recent appearance on the Zero Conditions podcast, Seun Kuti acknowledged that he received preferential treatment from his father, who he described as an amazing dad to him, despite his siblings potentially having differing opinions.
Seun shared that his pampered upbringing has resulted in him never having to do laundry in his life. He attributed his privileged childhood to “winning the daddy lottery.”
I won the daddy lottery. Fela Kuti is my favourite person in the world. If you asked my brothers they could say he’s a terrible dad but to me, he was an amazing father,” he said.
“You don’t know how spoilt I was growing up. Till now, I have never done laundry in my life. I don’t know how to wash anything. I’m not bragging.”
