Controversial self-proclaimed sex therapist, Hauwa Mohammed, widely known as Jaruma, has opened up about the real reason behind her marriage. Jaruma, who tied the knot with Ross Fahad Isabor in 2018 before their divorce in 2021, admitted that the marriage wasn’t for love but to dodge backlash for her career.
In a candid interview on the 'Issues and Society' podcast, Jaruma explained that intense criticism from northern communities, where she was selling aphrodisiacs as a single woman, drove her decision to marry.
“There was massive criticism from the north because I was selling sex products as a single lady. They wondered why a single woman was teaching them bedroom secrets,” she shared.
Jaruma also revealed the success of her business, stating that she made N760 million in just three years from the sale of sex products. Despite the heat, she felt her booming business was too valuable to abandon. "I just thought, if marriage is the issue, let me do it. I didn’t marry for love, but to escape the pressure," she added, noting that her ex-husband was fully aware of her reasons.
Interestingly, after their split, Fahad publicly warned Jaruma in 2022 to stop using his name to promote her "fake products."
