Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted to self-reflection following his team’s latest loss in the UEFA Champions League.

City suffered a 2-0 defeat against Juventus on Wednesday at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. The result marked their seventh loss in 10 matches across all competitions and put their hopes of reaching the tournament’s last 16 in jeopardy.

When asked about his management approach, Guardiola said, “Yeah, of course. Of course, I question myself in the good moments and the bad moments.”

Despite the setbacks, the Spanish coach maintained his composure, stating, “I was stable in the good moments and I’m stable in the bad moments. My biggest challenge is when they give me the opportunity to be a manager and get results to continue to work. If I would miss the big challenge in the first season, the second season, I wouldn’t be here.”

City are now just one point above the bottom 12 positions, which would mean elimination from the Champions League. They are five points behind the top eight teams that automatically qualify for the next stage. With two matches remaining against Paris Saint-Germain and Club Brugge, their campaign hangs by a thread.

In the Premier League, Guardiola’s squad will face Manchester United on Sunday. City currently trail league leaders Liverpool by eight points.
