Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has firmly denied allegations of a personal relationship with former Big Brother Naija star, Nengi Rebecca Hampson. These rumors suggested that Nengi had recently given birth to a child fathered by the governor, who is already married to four wives.
The speculation gained traction after a controversial blogger insinuated that Nengi had become the governor’s fifth wife. In response, Dr. Kola Oredipe, the governor’s spokesperson, labeled the claims as “baseless fabrications.” He emphasized that Nengi has no personal relationship with Governor Diri and criticized the spread of such falsehoods as a distraction from the administration’s achievements.
Oredipe further lamented the misuse of social media platforms for disseminating unverified information, noting that while the government was inaugurating a new road in Yenagoa, detractors were busy spreading unfounded rumors online.
