Nollywood star Funke Akindele is championing an anti-piracy campaign ahead of the December 13 release of her new movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa. The actress, who aims to break her personal box office record by earning ₦5 billion with the film, has urged fans and industry stakeholders to be vigilant against unauthorized recordings and distribution.
Speaking at an event, Akindele shared her concerns about the impact of piracy on her past work, noting that her previous film, A Tribe Called Judah, suffered significant revenue losses due to leaks. She emphasized that protecting intellectual property is crucial for the growth of Nollywood.
