A fire has destroyed the Lagos home of popular Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe.
The actress shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday night, expressing relief that no lives were lost. In a video post, she wrote, “Devastated, but I thank God no life was lost. It is well.”
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Fans and colleagues have flooded her post with messages of support and encouragement.
The incident comes just days before the cinema release of her new movie, Thinline.
Mercy Aigbe, 46, made headlines in January 2022 when she married movie marketer Kazeem Adeoti. She previously revealed that their shared passion for entertainment inspired their union, describing their collaboration as an opportunity to build a production empire together.
Last year, the actress converted to Islam, attributing the decision to her love for Adeoti.
