Nottingham Forest kept their Premier League title hopes alive with a thrilling 3-2 victory over struggling Southampton at the City Ground.
The win puts Forest level on points with second-placed Arsenal, adding more excitement to the title race.
Forest got off to a strong start in the first half, thanks to goals from Elliot Anderson and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Chris Wood then added a third goal after the break, taking his season tally to 14 and seemingly putting the game beyond Southampton's reach.
However, Southampton fought back in the final moments. Jan Bednarek redirected Lesley Ugochukwu’s shot into the net, narrowing the deficit. Substitute Paul Onuachu added another goal in injury time, turning the match into a tense affair.
The game extended into 12 minutes of added time, including a VAR check that disallowed Nikola Milenkovic’s goal for Forest. Despite the pressure, Forest’s defense held firm, with Ola Aina making a critical goal-line clearance to secure the victory.
While Forest celebrated their crucial win, Southampton’s situation worsened as they remained 10 points away from safety in the relegation zone.
