Renowned Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has unveiled her aspiration to transition from the silver screen to the political arena, announcing her intent to vie for a senatorial seat in Nigeria’s National Assembly.
In a recent Instagram post, Badmus reflected on her personal transformation and hinted at her future in politics. She wrote:
“There are days when I miss my old body… But then, I look at my new body, and I see growth… Missing who I was doesn’t take away from appreciating who I am becoming… Happy new month. #incomingsenator #incomingminister #eniolabadmus.”
This declaration follows her appointment in May 2024 as the Special Assistant on Social Events and Public Hearings to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
Badmus’s political journey gained momentum when, in July 2024, she resumed her duties and shared photos from a meeting with Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies in Abuja.
Her recent Instagram updates from February 2025 further solidified her political ambitions. Sharing images from the National Assembly, she captioned them:
Back in the A like we never left. Eniola Badmus. Abuja Living. Incoming Senator.”
Badmus’s foray into politics underscores a growing trend of Nigerian entertainers leveraging their public influence to effect change within the political landscape.
