Legendary British singer, Sir Elton John, has shared details about his ongoing battle with a severe eye infection that has significantly impaired his vision. In a personally signed statement, the 77-year-old musician revealed that the infection has left him with "limited vision" in one of his eyes, and the healing process has been frustratingly slow.
"I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye," John disclosed.
Despite the challenges, Sir Elton remains optimistic, noting that he is "feeling positive about the progress" made in his recovery so far.
The iconic artist, who recently announced his retirement from touring, concluded his farewell tour last year, which became the highest-grossing music tour in history at the time, raking in $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows before being surpassed by Taylor Swift's ‘Eras’ tour.
