Nigerian disc jockey Nonso Temisan Ajufo, better known as DJ Big N, narrowly escaped death after a violent robbery attack in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The entertainer recounted the harrowing incident, which occurred on January 12, as he traveled to a nightclub with an acquaintance. At a traffic light, their vehicle was ambushed by six armed men in two cars.
During the chaos, DJ Big N attempted to flee but was shot in the leg. The attackers then stole jewelry and valuables worth $114,000.
Bleeding heavily, he managed to return to his car, and his driver rushed him to the nearest hospital. Medical staff described his survival as miraculous, revealing that the bullet narrowly missed a major artery and bone.
In an Instagram post, DJ Big N reflected on the incident, crediting his survival to divine intervention and his mother’s prayers.
“This experience has taught me to value life more deeply and live authentically, free of unnecessary stress,” he wrote.
The incident has sparked conversations about safety for Nigerians traveling abroad, particularly in crime-prone areas.
