A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos has ordered the remand of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) leader, Ganiyu Oyedepo, also known as Koko Zaria, for allegedly assaulting veteran Yoruba actor Lawori.
The assault, which has been classified as a threat to the actor's life, led to Lawori seeking help via social media. In response, Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi assured the public that justice would be served.
On Thursday, August 5, 2024, Chief Magistrate B. Sonuga ordered Koko Zaria's remand following his arraignment on charges of conspiracy, assault causing harm, and conduct likely to breach public peace. Prosecutor Morufu Animashaun stated that the offence, committed on June 5, 2024, in Idimu, involved the assistance of Oyedepo’s associates.
